THE EVES
"A glistening pop gem with delightful harmonies"
- Jim Gellatly, Amazing Radio
Caroline has now formed pop duo ‘The Eves’ with Marissa Keltie.
Recent single releases ‘Big Love’ (2022) and ‘Brand New Day’ (2021) commanded attention from mainstream national radio stations, with both tracks making appearances on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio Scotland. The tracks have also featured heavily on regional and online playlists across the UK and Ireland. Big Love was the pair’s first release as a co-write, written with Jim Duguid (Paolo Nutini) and producer Lewis Gardiner (Ellie Goulding, Nick Jonas). It has now been officially adopted as the anthem for Scottish Women’s Football for the 2022/2023 League Season and was featured on BBC Scotland’s most popular football show ‘Off the Ball’ with Tam Cowan and Stuart Cosgrove.
The anthemic Brand New Day spent a stunning 5 weeks on the BBC Radio 2 playlist. After starting out as ‘New to 2” on Ken Bruce, the track made it onto the C list, before being promoted to the B list, racking up numerous plays by OJ Borg, The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, Claudia Winkelman, Steve Wright, Ken Bruce, and Rylan on Saturday,
The track was also made ‘Single of the Week’ on BBC Radio Scotland, reached No. 6 and No. 15 in the iTunes pop charts and iTunes main download chart respectively, charted in the Amazon ‘New Hot Releases’ UK Chart, and made an impressive debut in the UK Official Charts Company download and single charts in the top 65. Bauer Media’s Forth 1 also gave the track a spin and interviewed the pair. The icing on the cake was a deal with top UK Sync agency A&G Songs, who placed the track on an episode of ‘The Kardashians’ on Hulu and Disney Plus, airing in November 2022.
In terms of live performances, 2022 was their busiest and most successful year yet. The duo opened for award-winning Scottish band Skerryvore throughout November and December on their tour of the UK. Prior to this, the pair opened for Belinda Carlisle’s sold-out show at Glasgow’s prestigious Kelvingrove Bandstand, and toured with Scottish singer Horse, opening for her on most of her shows on her UK-wide tour. They were also invited to perform at The Forth Awards in Edinburgh last summer where they played alongside acts such as Wet Wet Wet, Tony Hadley and Heather Small.
Other notable past performances include a live session on BBC Scotland’s ‘The Quay Sessions with Roddy Hart’, opening for The Shires, TRNSMT Festival, King Tuts Summer Nights, Country to Country at the OVO Hydro, Tiree Music Festival, Capers in Cannich, and Vibration Festival. The duo have also made TV appearances on BBC Scotland’s ‘The Edit’.
During Covid lockdowns, the pair worked remotely with producer Lewis Gardiner to create a new portfolio of work, writing, recording, and producing 11 new songs. The single 'Love Will Find You' was released in August 2020, followed by the singles ‘Brand New Day’, ‘Legal High’, and ‘Not A Love Song’ in 2021.
Select online performances in 2020 included being invited by Levi’s to perform across their socials to 26 million followers for their 5:01 Live ‘Stay Home, Stay Connected’ campaign, as well as a live set for Amazing Radio and drinks company Bodega Bay.
This is no mean feat for an unsigned, self-managed and self-funded act, making incredible progress from when they started out in 2018 releasing debut single ‘Tides’ (produced by Mark Morrow) to hugely positive reviews
